The Team
A group of talented, passionate student designers and mentors came together to work collaboratively for 10 weeks, to research and develop concepts for re-imagining the Computer Museum of America in Roswell, GA. Our team consisted of 17 students and 2 professors all with differing backgrounds and subjects of focus. We represent a group of Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Design Management, Industrial Design and Themed Entertainment Design students, who have a shared passion for a project of this nature.
Winter Project 2017
The idea was simple. Build a museum and complex that would house decades of computer history, a cafe, an office, education space, maker space, trade expos, and an event space.
Simple right? But the heart and soul that the Mimms put into this space, into this journey made us want to make it the absolute best it could possibly be, and even better. Suited for any age range, the Mimms wanted anyone to walk through that door and be inspired. Whether it came from the computer exhibits, telling them stories that bring so much life into the machine, kids being inspired with robotics competitions in the event space, or workshops in the education space. Entrepreneurs of any age, creating in the office of the future and exploring their designs in the maker space. Even just stopping by for a cup of coffee, the Mimms wanted a landmark in Roswell, GA. A place for the entire community and everyone who visited.
